11 Painful Miles - after taking two days off of running and eating everything in site I ran my normal 11 mile route in a lot of stomach pain.  I am getting a little panicky about the upcoming Chicago Marathon because I have missed too many training runs here recently.  I will try to get back in a groove these next 5 weeks and make up some ground.

Easy miles this morning.  Tomorrow is my 18 miler, in which I will be waking up at 4:45am, which might not sound bad to most of you, but I struggle.

defninitely a VERY low mileage week.  A little dissapointing but not something to dwell on.

dissapointment is the only way I can describe this run.  I actually ran an ok pace - 7:37 - but I wanted to complete the full 18 miles.  It was raining so hard that I decided to take it in early.  I just wish I would have finished the run, mainly for confidence.  I am really nervous about the upcoming marathon because I will only have done about 5 or 6 runs over 12 miles before the race.  I hope to have a decent weekend, but again will be out of town, which makes it so hard to get my runs in.

Great run in Cleveland.  Would have loved to go a little longer but had things to do with wife's family.

I have a question for anyone that qualified for Boston in their first marathon - how many runs over 12 miles did you all do?  I need a little confidence booster.  I have been runnning consistently, just have not gotten as many long runs as I would like.  I have a 1:30 half marathon from May of 2008 - Marathon is in October of 2008.  What are my chances on 50 miles a week and most training runs between 7:30 and 7:45's.  Thanks

6 Easy recovery type miles.

It is awesome how easy a 6 mile run has become.  I love it, it is so mindless.  Almost all of the runs except the long 15+ runs are simple and mindless now.  I just have to keep the motivation to do them after work.

9 MPM - I felt great during this run, I went 9 miles with the first mile being a little over 7:40 before I settled into a 6:50 pace - felt really strong at the end - doing the last two miles at about 6:30, I could have held that pace for probably three more miles.

I had a scheduled 20 miler today.  It was about 90 and I felt awful.  Ended up running a dissapointing12.  I will do 18 tomorrow morning before work.  I just feel like a long run at this time is too important to miss.

11 miles - the legs felt heavy, it was hot out, but somehow i managed my Marathon pace of 7:14 average, including an 8 minute first mile.  So, all in all I felt good about the run.

Best run so far, with three weeks to go for Chicago Marathon.  I did 22 hilly miles at 7:39 average without really exerting myself.  This was a huge confidence builder.

Started my recovery run.  1 miles in something in my back caused immense pain.  caused me to collapse.  I cannot hardly take a deep breath.  I think it might be a dislodged rib.  I have dislocated my rib before and it always goes back and feels fine.  I was going to make today a good strength day, instead taking a full day of recovery.  Mentally, it is a bummer but i know it is something that I have to do.

18 great miles - took it easy and just ran for pure distance - legs were moving faster than i expected and asked - 7:39 average.  I feel good about my opportunity on Oct. 12 - i want to be able to do my best effort that day and this is really my last long run.

Sister's wedding was last night - i have decided to give up hard liquor - i woke up in a stupor and threw on a bunch of layers to sweat out the alcohol and ran to my car that was parked 4.5 miles from my house
